Why are parents more accepting of their daughters playing with "boy" toys than they are of their son playing with "girl" toys.

Most of the concerned parent questions about toys their kids play with come from parents of boys who are afraid that their son is playing with toy kitchens or baby dolls or barbies. Rarely is there anyone worried about their daughter playing with army guys, nerf guns, or wrestling action figures. Parents are worried when their son ask for the sparkling shoes but not when their daughter ask for the Batman shoes.I have a son and daughter who are close in age so this is something I have thought a lot about. Both are into gender stereotypical toys at the moment but may play with each other toys, especially when they are playing together. It made me wonder why it's a big deal one way but not the other. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2qXnp9F
