Mixed-race kids & sun protection?

My kid is of mixed heritage (white/Asian) and he tans really easily. Most of the time that he goes outside (day camp, etc.), I put sunblock on him (SPF 30-SPF 45). He's pretty tan right now, though (meaning noticeably darker than usual -- his winter skin tone is between my and my husband's skin tones), and I'm wondering if I'm not putting enough sunblock on him (maybe I should do it more often?) or if it's just typical for a mixed-race kid to tan very easily, even with sun protection. I hope this question doesn't sound ignorant -- I am fanatical about my own sunblock (because I'm very fair) and want to make sure I'm protecting him too! via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2tKw0fr
