Daughter gets too distracted to eat!

My stepdaughter is 8 and at her last dr checkup they told her mother that she was borderline anemic, dehydrated, and very underweight. She repeated the importance of eating and drinking to SD and she took it very seriously... for a week. Now she's been coming home from her summer camp with almost all her lunch untouched, again! She says her friends were making her laugh too much to eat, she was having too much fun to eat. She forgets she can snack on the bus.The mom is going to ask the counselors if she can eat by herself, but we're not sure what we can do to help! I don't want to punish her for not eating but have thought taking away desserts for a few weeks might be good. We've upped her iron a ton but we can't force her to drink or eat when we're not there! Her father and I make her eat healthy foods here with occasional snacks, but if she's not eating or drinking for 1/3 of the day, it won't do any good!Any advice is appreciated. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2v9SNpb
