My 3 year old used to get a bit on edge when a small spider walked past or a fly landed near her. We now give each type of bug a different name and she asks them to go away in a very calm way. I just saw her with a small spider, looking at it and saying 'Excuse me Charlie, could you please go somewhere else' and then just carried on with her day.
