Fickle 3yo. Constantly changes toys.

Hy there. My LO just got three and it becomes obvious that he is very fickle (compared to other kids). He starts playing with one toy/game but looses interest rather quick and wants to play something different. There are exceptions (like he loves drawing or playing with Plasticine) where he playes for a longer time (several minutes up to half an hour). But most of the time he looses interest in his toys after 5-10 minutes. I get the impression that we may have given him too much toys to play. In one part of the living room we have stored most of his toys and this section is getting bigger and bigger. We had a conversation with a friend and she suggested to put away most of his stuff so he only has left a handfull of toys so he has to play with that or he has to improvise and has to use his imagination more. What do you think? She also suggested that it's important that he has to learn to handle some boredom. My wife and I are rather quick to play with him whenever he demands it (and he ALWAYS demands it). That's another point: When should he learn to play by himself? He depends very much on us to play with him and very seldom plays by himself longer than 5-10 minutes. What would you suggest? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2vLvKOF
