Tldr version : How do I explain to my 4 year old that her favorite food (pepperoni) is made from her favorite animal(pig)?My daughter has been asking a lot of questions about and where things come from. Most of these are easily answered by google images or youtube. Pictures of strawberry plants or a how its made video is easy. Explaining that meat is dead animals is trickier. So far when it comes up we say things like "hamburgers are made of beef" and rely on her not asking where beef comes from.
