Question about daycare

Does your daycare charge you for weeks they are closed? Our daycare was recently closed for a week and we did not pay for that week bc we figured since they were closed we wouldn’t be expected to pay. Our daughter goes a couple days a week and we pay per day. My husband just got a Venmo request for payment for the week the daycare was closed for vacation. I guess if this is the norm we will send the money over even though im not convinced that we should have to pay for a service we didn’t receive. Luckily we didn’t have to pay for another sitter, but i imagine some of the parents had to pay someone else to watch their child/ren during that week and then pay the daycare on top of that.
