Need advice: My wife insists on bathing our baby twice a day.

So my wife is originally from Jamaica, and culturally, Jamaicans bathe twice a day. That could have something to do with the heat and lack of air conditioning on the island. Where we live now, outside heat is only a problem half of the year and we have air conditioning. Our pediatrician and everything I read online recommends bathing a baby 2 to 3 times a week. I have also read the risks of bathing too much; 1.) Drying out of skin due to removing natural oils 2.) Removing dead skin cells that are meant to protect the other layers of skin 3.) Removing good bacteria meant for fighting bad bacteria. I have thoroughly conveyed this information to her but she refuses to cut down on the bathing. Is there anything else that I can do to convince her to change? Is applying lotion after each bath enough to counter the problems of bathing too much? Is it bad for the baby to apply that much lotion on him? Thank you for your time. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2DUMIRi
