I’m hoping someone here has some advice.. my son is 8 yrs old (2nd grade) and he’s barely reading. He can get some words but most of the time he’s completely lost in reading. The teacher has even expressed her concern at this point because he’s not meeting grade level expectations. I have a meeting to discuss his (lack of) progress tomorrow. I’ve considered he may have some kind of learning disability but he has been doing well in all other subjects. He’s actually very advanced in math. He doesn’t have any social problems and seems to have good cognitive ability besides reading. He does have symptoms of ADHD. He’s hyperactive. He can’t focus all the time and is easily distracted. No issues with his yearly eye exams, so him needing glasses isn’t the problem.. The teacher at his school has been working individually with him and we also work with him at home but it seems to get no where. anyone have any advice on what to do from here? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2nbA8n7
