What is the normal sleep situation in the country you live in?

I'm in the US and get lots of pressure for my 1 year old to be in a separate room, sleeping through the night, and being able to lay him down and him fall asleep on his own. Is this the norm other places? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2i8Ncqf
