Parent Seeking Advice on Ear Tubes & In Laws

Hello everyone! I'm a first time poster on this fine subreddit!I am in bit of quandary here with me(31 M) and wife's (24 F) first born (11 months). My daughter, who is in day care, has been battling constant ear infections. Every time we've gone to the Doctor (5 times this year already) they have been prepping us with the next steps of seeing an ENT Specialist with the expectation of getting ear tubes. It's been the same sequence of events with the pediatrician: *They prescribe antibacterial medication, * Ear infection clears up and she promptly gets another one * Rinse and repeatFinally 2 weeks ago was the last straw, we were referred to a ENT specialist to which it was recommended that we schedule for ear tubes. My wife and I were in lockstep with our decision and scheduled for the surgery in a couple of weeks.Since then my wife has discussed our decision with her family (4 sisters and mom and dad) and they have injected so much doubt into her decision to which she is now backtracking on the whole thing. My MIL said it could be allergies and that my daughter needs to get tested first and that she'll pick up my daughter and take her to the doctor over the weekend. My MIL lives 255 miles away from us. She stated we weren't going about this the right way. That we have not taken careful consideration of the ear tube surgery. My MIL and my FIL both said they would be willing to move where we are to take my daughter out of day care to prevent future issues. On top of that, I have my sister in law living with us which is basically satelliting the same sentiment as my in laws. Now my wife wants additional second opinions and is basically caving into all of these additional demands which could potentially delay the operation. My whole concern is that if delay the operation, it could potentially damage her hearing stunt her behavioral progression. I also have a huge concern her family can have such a huge impact on the whole process we have already suffered through this year- more so daughter obviously.I just need advice on how to handle this whole situation. Thank you in advance! via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2lIN8TN
