Is it possible to change schools?

TLDR; Is it possible to change schools mid-year? How can it be done?My 12-year old had an IEP for two years and then scored out of needing aid. She’s very social, creative and thoughtful. I wonder if she is not being given the correct learning strategies that meet her needs. (Issue 1)Recently, she has been having panic attacks. They come in the form of stomach aches, her throat hurts, she’s sick. She will cry and hyperventilate and be unable to talk to us. She’s having panic attacks at school and spending most of the day with the guidance counselor or nurse. (Issue 2)Bullying and violence are MAJOR problems in her school. At the end of last year, she was trapped in the bathroom while a group of girls began fist fighting and filming it for Snapchat. This is a big part of her anxiety. (Issue 3)We NEED to change schools. How do I go about doing that? Has anyone had success? We live in Massachusetts and in a pretty populated city. There is a Montessori charter school, but it’s lottery only. Is there a process for changing school? How? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2lZR4zU
