What is you opinion on an elementary school sending home a flyer saying "First 20 kids to bring in $20 can be in this afterschool club!"

My daughter is in fourth grade and they are doing a Student Government for 4th and 5th graders. The school's concept of this club is to elect 5th graders to be members of the board and all of the students go see elderly in a nursing home (right next to the school) or go to dinner at the restaurant also within walking distance of the school and other currently unknown activities.Another club we received a flyer for was, "First 20 students to pay $10 can be in the afterschool art club!"I am just genuinely curious what other parents think about this kind of exclusivity in an elementary school where some children may not understand they can't be in a club because their parent's didn't have $20 cash lying around for the following day.Just a note here: this is a growing city and there are currently six or seven total fourth grade teachers each with 18-22 children in their class. In my opinion, it's fairly large. It is also a school driven by a PTA with an income of $100,908 for the 2015/16 school year and $98,996 in expenses. Just a general idea of type of school we are in. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2dqht0u
