My daughter is 8 and is having some difficulties with bullying because she prefers to wear her hair cut short in a boys style. Girls at her school have been reporting her to teachers for using the girls toilets. She now won’t use the toilets at school and won’t even go near them - any ideas to help?

We have spoken with teachers and school staff about this - but this hasn’t stopped how she is feeling about it. We have a good open dialogue with her and she is open with talking about how she feels about it. She is a bit of a Tom Boy and doesn’t like dresses and frilly things. Jewellery isn’t allowed at her school. I am open to any ideas that will help her feel empowered to be herself and give her the dignity to go to the bathroom without fear or embarrassment. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2L1DzZF
