Daughter is developing a verbal tic. What can/should we do?

Our daughter is four and a half. Over the past couple of months, she has started to add, "Um, mm," (two syllables) when she talks to people. Like, "I want some cereal for - um, mm - breakfast," or, "Did you see what - um, mm - Daddy just did?"We've tried to mostly ignore it because we just figured she was gathering her thoughts and was self-conscious of what she was saying. We didn't want to discourage her from engaging us/others.However, now she is doing it when she plays by herself or reads. Times she didn't do it in the past and situations where she's never had issues expressing her thoughts. How can we help her stop doing this without making her feel self-conscious or not wanting to talk for fear of being corrected? Will it just go away on its own or is it a sign of something bigger? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2vpWmsy
