Two of most powerful belief you can instill in your kids is that they trust their own ability to make right decisions and to have compassion for themselves and others.

I feel that a lot of young adults who grew up with helicopter parents never developed their ability to make own decisions. This has paralyzed them when they have to encounter the world on their own. This leads to stagnation and apathy because they will always be fearful and unsure of their own ability to make good decisions.
