My 11 year old son lives with me half the time and his father the other half. Just for reference, his father is a narcissist POS. My son broke down in tears and trauma this weekend and told me that when he was last at his father's house, he saw porn on his dad's computer. Long story short... The 11 year old was bullying his younger brother and after several warnings was sent to bed early. His brother and I were hanging out watching a movie and he (8) used the phrase "pornhub". I asked him how he knew that word, and he told me he heard it from his brother. Later on, I asked his brother about it and he denied it. I explained to him that if he was interested in learning more about sex, he could ask me or my brother/his uncle (if he wanted a man to talk to) and we would learn in a more appropriate way. I explained that porn on the internet can be very upsetting to people who aren't emotionally prepared for what they could come across. Seemed like a good talk until I asked him for his phone (part of his earlier punishment) and he broke down sobbing and told me how his dad told him he could type up his homework on the computer and when he (my son) turned it on, the browser was up and at pornhub. Apparently after that, he looked at it on his phone too. He was very upset at the wide array of sex he saw. I need help with this guys! How do I help undo this damage? Am I over-reacting?
