My 17 month old's sleeping habits: What am I doing wrong?

Mother of an almost 18 month old. Still not sleeping through the night. We've traveled and moved around pretty intensely his first 10 months, but are settled now and have an established routine, yet he still wakes up once or twice a night, bawling to be comforted. Our bedtime routine looks like this: after getting pyjamas on and brushing teeth, we get him a warm bottle of almond milk and snuggle him in our bed until he falls asleep. As of yet, he has not really been able to fall asleep on his own in his crib.I used to nurse to sleep, but got out of that routine 4 months ago. I really believed once I stopped the nursing-to-sleep that he'd sleep the whole night. It has gotten better, but he still needs comforting in the middle of the night and usually is only content if he gets to snuggle up in bed with us. So... I suppose we need to put a stop to that. He sleeps in our room in his crib until his 1st or 2nd wakeup, at which point he does not settle easily unless he's in bed with us! So for convenience that's what we've been doing but we would prefer for him to sleep on his own at this point!Any suggestions or similar stories would be greatly appreciated! via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2gyiSUM
