Need Help Recalibrating the Sleep Modulator on a 2017 Human Male [xpost Daddit]

Hey /r/ParentingHaving some trouble tuning the sleep modulator on my 2017 Male. When the unit was brand new, it seemed to rapidly oscillate between sleep and awake, never staying in any one position for all that long. There was also a high pitched whine associated with the awake position.I have a few earlier models, so I was aware that this behavior was expected and that sleep modulator would eventually sort itself out. In the interim, I was able to correct issues by refueling it, emptying the waste receptacle and switching it back to sleep by gently rocking the unit back and forth. This worked well for a while and the rapid oscillation began to correct itself.Around October, I finally got it calibrated to go into sleep mode around 7pm and switch back to awake around 6am. This worked great until about a month ago. For some reason, the wake switch is now misfiring closer to 2a or 3a and it gets stuck in that position for hours. So far, I've tried the following:RefuellingEmptying the waste receptacleRocking the unitTalking to itSinging to itBegging it to sleepPlacing it into it's bed in the awake position (this resulted in a persistent high pitched whine and nothing else)I also had a retired expert recommend striking it on the housing of its waste disposal system, but that recommendation seems outdated and counter productive.Other than the sleep issue, the unit seems to be in excellent condition. The mood gauge is frequently set to happy or mischievous. The ambulatory system came online over the summer and is always running. The communication system is working as expected and is rapidly improving. I also checked for an automated update to the mastication module as that can frequently interfere with the sleep modulator, but there were no indicators of a recent or pending update there.I should also note that this unit is currently sharing a housing bay with two older models until we finish procuring a larger housing bay next month, so prolonged awake state and the accompanying whine triggers the awake switch in the other units. This makes self-recalibration difficult.I'm at a loss on how to correct the sleep misfire. Any recommendations on diagnostic or calibration techniques would be appreciated!Original: https://ift.tt/2WxBsQL via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2HQK1D1
