A question from a teenager (Sophmore)

Hi, sorry if this is not the right forum to ask this question but I am currently a highschooler who coaches middle school kids for swimming. There is an upcoming highschool swim tournament in 3 weeks and I was thinking about emailing this middle school student's parents if they were willing to have his/her kid come watch the tournament as a spectator for experience to see how experienced swimmers compete. However, the only dilemna is that the tournament requires spectators to pay $15 for the meal throughout the 2 days, and was wondering if it was rude or out of my place to ask about something that requires money. As a parent, would you see this as a rude email coming from a teenager, or actually understand their true motive (which is to provide them with a learning oppurtunity, though may require some money) Thank you via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2YBK6PI
