Teachers & Parents: Have you noticed different outcomes for children in private and public K-8?

Currently, my son attends a private preschool that is a part of a Catholic K-8 school. The K-8 program is good, and it is the school that he wants to attend. However, we live in a city with a good school district.Parents and teachers who have had kids in both private and public (suburban districts with good levels of achievement), what are the pros and cons (other than cost) of sending your child to a private school over a public school? I'm especially interested in viewpoints from parents who have a child (or children) attend both public and private K-8 school, as well as teachers who have taught in both types of schools. Are there benefits to either that make one a clear choice over the other? The religion part isn't really an issue. We're more concerned with things like discipline, values, academic rigor, and so on. Basically, did you notice that one (public or private) in general seemed to have more of a positive impact overall on the child. Thanks in advance! via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2COobfT
