Hello all,Our son is 17 years old, currently in his senior year in high school. We know he smokes pot, which is an altogether other issue that we have discussed and came to a compromise about. Besides this, he’s a pretty good kid, good grades, etc. The other day, however, he came to us on Saturday and basically said he and his friends are thinking about/have experimented with LSD. The reason he told us is because he was texting his friend about potentially getting some and his friends mom saw the messages and started calling parents to alert them. He asked his friends mom if he could tell us himself so we wouldn’t panic. The texts are along the lines of “I know someone who can get us acid, let’s go drive to get some”. He came to us on Saturday and said that he and his friends were thinking about trying LSD but didn’t because they got caught, and said he’d rather we hear it from him instead of other parents. He said he believed it was a substance that could help him spiritually and mentally, and that he knows it isn’t something that is to be taken lightly. He showed us articles about precautions to be taken and reassured us he would take all of them upon taking LSD. We don’t know what to do. We can ground him, but what would that do? He says he hasn’t tried it before, but this happening isn’t going to stop his urge. Should any punishments be put into place? Help? Advice? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2OfuM58
