Toddler Sleep - HELP!

We desperately need help with our almost 3yr old and the latest sleep regression we have been going through for the past couple of months. Give me your personal stories, books to read, anything to help this tired momma! My almost 3yr old have never been a great sleeper. It took her a long time to stop waking in the night as an infant, and I think she was almost 2 before she regularly started sleeping through the night. Even then, we could get her to sleep relatively easily and when she was waking up, it was usually just once a night and she would go right back down after rocking for 2 or 3 minutes. Now, it is a totally different story. It takes 1 to 2 hours each night to get her down. The routine is usually dinner, TV/playtime, bath, wind down playtime in her room (playing with dolls or cars), read some books, rock, sleep. This is the same routine since she was a baby, but the transitions are getting harder - particularly from quiet playtime to books to bed.She used to be able to go to sleep relatively independently. She'd crawl in bed and I'd give her a kiss and leave the room. Now she insists I lay in bed with her or rub her back. Which if I don't turns into a full screaming meltdown. And she has begun waking up in the middle of the night again, but does not go down like she used to. It takes another hour of laying with her to get her to sleep.I didn't have a problem letting her cry in her crib as a baby on occasion. But now it is more heartbreaking - she knows whats going on and I can't just leave a screaming toddler in her bed crying for her momma. Of course, she ends up in our bed on the worse nights - and she will fall fast asleep at that point.I just need some tips/techniques to help her get to bed in her own bed easier and fall back to sleep easier. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2xuX5Ig
