Single parent

Having kids is hard. Having kids as a single father is hard. Having kids when you are older is hard. Having kids, being single and being older is the hardest. When you are a single dad you don't know if you are too hard or too soft on your kids, there's no second opinion. It feels unnatural not having a mother around and there's an powerful need to compensate for it. When you are frustrated with your kids there's no one to console you. You become too hard on yourself, second guessing your every decision. Aiming at an unattainable perfection as a dad, with no limits. There's no clear path, no book to read, no guidance, just the love in your hard to do what you think is the best for your kids. Happiness is no longer defined in your interests but in giggles and laughter. And the hope they become good people. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2sLiWrM
