Parents who have taken international trips with your children: Where did you go, what age were your kids, and how did it go?

My wife and I love to travel. We're about to have our first, and we've been thinking about what ages might be good for first international trips.I wanted to hear how things went. Not just the airplane ride or something, but a more holistic ideas about what kids enjoyed, what they didn't enjoy, what unique challenges there were, etc. I'm not just looking for tips or something, but rather, just some general stories and thoughts :-) via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2sjqoHk
