My son just started at a new school -- one he asked to go to last year and had been on the waiting list for a spot. The change was abrupt (a space opened up and we grabbed it) and while he likes the rhythm and the overall atmosphere, he is a bit slow to warm and is feeling a bit disconnected from the other kids (most of the boys play soccer at lunchtime and it's just not his thing, he misses his old friends). I've signed him up for some extra-curricular activities which begin next week and am hoping that will help him connect with kids that share his interests).I'm just wondering, for parents of tweens who have made a school change, how long did it take for your child to adjust?My 9 year old changed as well but has settled in right away -- much more of a social beast. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2voEOMF
