Being a parent in light of current events

Six years ago there was discussion on whether or not to have a kid. The positives, the negatives, the changes to our life, the challenges that would surely follow, the course our lives would take if we did not have a child. "This world is a pretty strange place. Are we sure we want to bring a child into this world?" We weighed the options, we decided that all things considered that it would be, in general, a good thing.In the past two weeks it has suddenly become very difficult to look to my little girl, think of current events happening, and wonder if this wasn't a terrible world to bring a child into. With each day that goes by, I find myself asking the question of "Why did we do this? What kind of future is she going to have in this mess?"
