1 year old cant sleep longer than 3 hours

Hi all,We have a 1 year old who can't sleep for longer than 3 hours at night...And around 4 am, starts getting up every hour until 6 or 7 am.He's been a terrible sleeper since 5 months...We've tried cosleeping, CIO (Ferber), and staying with him in his room (hand on his side, until he falls asleep). None of these have resulted in longer sleep. He goes to bed pretty easily, with both CIO and staying he will be asleep within 5 min. But he's up again in 1.5-3 hours, crying. He won't put himself back to sleep without eating or cuddling. CIO was mostly a failure...We gave it up after 6 weeks of him awake for hours screaming every night. Stubborn boy.My wife breastfeeds him. He eats about 3x a night, wakes up 4-5. I can load him up on food before bed (like, last night...1 banana, 1 pouch) and it makes no difference. Or we can not feed him after dinner, and then he's up at ten and won't go back to sleep until he's fed.We are at a loss, /r/parenting. Our first child slowly transistioned into longer and longer sleep, and weaned at the same time. He is doing neither. We are both tired, frustrated, and nearing hopelessness.Has anyone experienced something similar? Were you able to overcome it, and did you use any particular strategy? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2mrEmFq
