Daughter's 21st Birthday Money

I held my daughter's 21st birthday party at the start of the month and there's been ongoing tension between us about the birthday money. I paid a large sum of money to hire a function hall with food, waiter service and a bar tab at a formal tavern. My daughter received $1600 in cash as birthday money from families and friends and I have given her half of the birthday money to keep whilst I kept the rest to pay for some of the expenses of the party.
