Talking topics with a toddler

I (dad) have a daughter (3F) that goes to daycare/preschool daily. Usually when I pick her up she is a little chatter box for the first 5 minutes of the drive home telling me how her day was, what she did, what she ate, etc. However, I find that most of the time the rest of our commute home is silent. I'd like to keep her talking to show I'm interested in her day and what she has to say but I often struggle to keep the conversation going.
