If you want to go to a kid-friendly movie, try sensory-friendly showings

I live in SF and almost all the baby-brigade type movie places are gone but I stumbled across a good alternative, Sensory Friendly movies. It started by some lady who petioned the AMC to have a showing for her autistic son and is a policy at almost all AMC (and other major chains) theaters. At this Sensory Friendly showings (typically they'll do 2-4 a month) they keep the lights on, turn the volume down, and basically turn the theater into a kid/family friendly experience. (i.e. you can't be in there and get pissed if some 5 yo is talking). We saw Finding Dory there this past Sat. It was our second time going to a Sensory Friendly flic and both times have been a blast. (and you don't have to have a special needs kid. I was sort worried about that the first time we went but it's totally cool.) via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/290IxRA
