My kids are 2 years apart, 10 and 12. My younger son has had a host of medical problems and most recently received an autism diagnosis. My kids can never play together without driving each other, and us, crazy. It's more than traditional sibling bickering. They have managed to get along like 3 times that I can remember. I realized that it feels so exhausting because when they need play time, they can't play together, we need to play with them, so it's like having two only children.
