Please consider researching local medical facilities

This may be different for everyone but in summary I'll give run down of what we went through recently. Our son had a high fever and we measured it at 103. He also had a febrile seizure several month ago so we rushed him to the local ER as precautionary measure. Turns out he did end up going into seizure again. The ER doctor must have assumed it would pass but when it didn't things escalated quickly and seriously and a big part of it was the treatment administered.Needless to say we were transported to another facility with pediatric units and everything is ok now. But in hindsight and going over the events with basically every other healthcare provider we encountered, the treatment should have been handled differently. The takeaway is that in our case, the ER doctor does not have a specialty in pediatrics and did not do things that would have been obvious to do to staff trained in pediatrics. We went to the ER because it is literally up the street but we are also fortunate to live in the Cleveland area which has an abundance of healthcare options. In the end, I just want to say it is worth your time to review and understand the services offered in your area. By and far get to an ER or better yet call local emergency medics in a life threatening situation but in other situations you may be better off getting to the most appropriate faculty versus just the closest and it is critical to have a plan before things happen. via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2XggdUm
