Best place in the U.S. to grow up

I'm very curious to hear opinions on this. If you had to choose one location (the more specific the better) in the U.S. that you'd consider the best place for a kid to grow up, where would it be, and why?For the sake of helpful discussion, here are a few caveats/assumptions:Let's assume that the child in question has a middle class parent or parents, and that their household income will be around the median for that area.Let's assume the child will go to public school.Let's ignore situations that are highly specific to one specific person or family. For example, it's probably not that helpful of a suggestion to say that rural West Virginia would have been your favorite place to grow up solely because your grandma lives there, or to say that you wish you could move your specific kid to a specific small town in Colorado because she's an aspiring professional snowboarder and the best coach for that sport lives there, or something. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2ierumN
