5 yo son is seated seperately from everyone in class

My son started kindergarten this year and he is the youngest in his class because was born right no the last day of the cutoff. Anyways, he is very energetic, and is in trouble for distracting other children and talking out of turn, etc...I found out last week that he sits at a seperate desk away from the other kids. The others sit in groups, but because he has been too disruptive, he has a desk of his own.I emailed the teacher to discudd it and she explained that it was not a permanent move, but only a temporary one for w few weeks and he will be moved back with the other kids. She also explained that they only sit at their desks for maybe 15-20 minutes per day for assignments, and all other times he is with the other children (carpet time).I'm worried that he is already becoming labeled as the disruptive kid in this school at a young age. By separating him, I feel like it's only going to drain his self esteem and make him feel more like an outsider. He is already dealing with growing up in a split house hold, so there is already a lot of stress in his life.Has anyone had any experience with this with their kids? How did you approach the situation? Is this normal for kindergarten to take these measures at such a young age?ThanksEDIT: Where are these downvotes coming from on an advice thread?!?! via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2iyFV1h
