Stepsons (10,5) share a room, preparing to split them up

I’ve found lots of articles about how to keep the peace between siblings who share a room, but none about how to transition them into their own! The 10 year old is definitely ready for his own space, the age gap is really starting to make a difference, and we think it’s time to start getting the 5 year old to be more independent from his older brother. We will be putting the 5 year old in his own room in about two weeks (once my best friend moves out) and I’m looking for advice on how to make the transition smooth.
