Has anyone else ever homeschooled due to bullying not being handled by the school?

I have an 12 year old son with auditory and sensory processing disorder. He is also academically gifted and has a high IQ.He has dealt with bullying issues since starting kindergarten. Now that he is in junior high and still struggles with auditory and sensory processing disorder and has a high IQ, it makes him very quirky and the kids find him flat out weird. He can't play sports, is awful is gym, weights 58 pounds, and can't eat in the cafeteria because it overwhelms him. From what we hear most of the bullying happens in gym, but it happens in Spanish and computer class as well. Kids purposefully mess with him, pretend that they are talking and he can't hear them, trip him, hide his clothes, make fun of what he is wearing, pants him, etc.It is brutal and we have gone to the school so many times. They do nothing about it. I have gone above their heads and things are fine for a week and then they are pushing him into urinals or making up rumors about him. It also gets worse every time I report a problem.I don't know what to do. He is such a bright kid and I'm thinking that he would do well with homeschooling. There aren't any other options for education here and we can't move. via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2t2Dk7r
