Our 12 year old daughter stole over £300 from my wife and I over the last 3 months. £50 of which was a deposit for a school trip abroad. It destroyed us.She missed out on a place on the trip but the school said they would put her on a waiting list in case any places came available. At the time we said after her actions she wouldn't be going anyway.Couple of months later and the school has informed us all there is a place for her to go on the trip.I think we should stick to our guns and she should not be allowed to go on the trip to make her realise the consequence of her actions. My wife however now wants her to go on the trip.This is causing a massive rift in the family and I'm looking like the bad parent.What are everyone's thoughts on the subject? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2LmBBFe
