Today my 4 year old managed to remove a bracket that held up a shelf on our tv console leading to an avalanche of dvds on the floor. Of course, I was upset because of the mess but instead of just yelling at him and picking them up myself, I had him do it. I showed him how to put the bracket back in place and afterwards he put each dvd back, one by one.Could I have done it much quicker (and neater) by myself? Absolutely. But I have come to realize that showing my son the he can and should take responsibility for his mistakes & make them right is going to benefit him in the long run. As parents, it can be tempting to jump in and correct their mistakes ourselves but taking the time to show them how to fix it builds not only their character, but their confidence as well. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2LoZMTE
