Should I scold my neighbor kid who hit me with his bike?

Looking for advice. I'm a first time mom. My son just turned one. We had his birthday party at a park. I was walking my son on the pavement right next to the playground. There this neighborhood kid who is about 4-5 years old riding his bike very fast, going towards us with no intention to stop. I stopped him on time before he hit my one year old. I kindly told him to be careful. He rode away. He then circled back and ran into my moms leg. Shes hurt. Then he circled back again, creeped up at our back and almost hit us. If I didn't turn around and told him to stop. He would have hit my mom and my one year old, again! I got so mad and told him that he couldn't keep running into people, and I told him that he needs to apologize. His mom came at me and started yelling. Her reason was that we were walking on the pavement and her son is too young to know when to stop.I'm all confused. There's other people strolling at the park peacefully on the pavement as well. It's a shared trail for pedestrian and kids who use bike/scooter.I don't know anything about parenting as I am a new mom. But I don't think I should let it go after this kid tried to hit us three times intentionally. What should I do if I encounter situation like this next time.? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2KpIQf9
