Our family situation is a bit flipped, I the father am primary caregiver for our two year old while the mother is working during the day. My father also lives with us. For the past month maybe, my little one wakes up chanting mommy. I've let it go just to see how long she wants to chant, and it's gone as long as 20m before I stopped it. She is in her own bedroom, and when I her father open the door, instant screaming. I pick her up, take her to the changing table, she fights violently, to change her diaper or to change her clothes after sleep, it's similar to a wrestling match. This morning I made the mistake of lowering my head, and she kicked me squarely in the throat. However, she runs to pappy and calms down with him there. This just started a out a month or so ago, and she has been exploring her freedom. It's a struggle to keep clothing on her during the day, which I am told is normal. But the wake up wrestling match, is that normal? Granted I feel horrible, not that she wants mommy over me, that happens in an arc I understand, but the chanting mommy then being violent when she isn't there, any advice to what I should do? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2LBfSWu
