Newborn and sleeping.

Hey everyone here at r/parenting,My SO and I are in need of some advice but first a wall of text. We are happy parents of a beloved six day old boy and though we are sleep deprived we couldn’t be happier.Unfortunately my SO’s family is almost attacking her for the baby’s sleeping habits.Since we’ve been home the baby will not nap in either crib, pack-n-play or bassinet. When he does sleep it’s in either of our arms for anywhere between twenty minutes to three hours.Now my SO suffered a fourth degree tear while our son was exiting her and so sitting up is extremely painful for her even when medicated. So when she has our son she is laying on her side and fully awake. A handful of times has she fallen asleep but due to her condition she can’t move and if she does she experiences shooting pains up her rectum and vagina.My SO’s mother, aunt and sister are ridiculing her for how we have been letting them sleep when we have no other choice. Ever when I have sat up with the baby for six hours throughout the night and put him one of the sleeping edifices he’ll began to cry shortly after.I was hoping for sage like parenting advice on when my son will be able to sleep alone and how can we get him there?
