MIL anti-Vax rant

My MIL believes that vaccines are a conspiracy by the government to keep us sick for profit. (Yes, I know).It hasn’t really been a huge issue so far; we let her know we don’t believe what she believes, and besides asking us to watch a documentary, it hasn’t been an issue.Until now.My son is almost 4 and was born at 29 weeks. He has speech and balance problems. The neurologists want him in for an MRI to see if he has a small brain bleed that was missed when he was born.My husband tells my MIL this, and she says “well, I have a theory” and tells him it’s the vaccines.I saw red when he told me. How dare she imply that we did this to him. I mean, it couldn’t be the fact that he was born super early, no it has to be vaccines. How dare she use my son to further her demented conspiracy theories.But she went to a seminar.My husband called her back and told her under no circumstance is she to discuss this with us again. We don’t want to hear it. “But it’s my opinion”Oh if she knew how close I was to cutting her out entirely. And I like her, but this is unacceptable. I already feel awful. I don’t need that whole side of the family gossiping about how I caused my son to have cerebral palsy or what have you.And you just can’t reason with these people.It’s forever altered our relationship.Anyway, just had to rant a bit.
