Is it a good idea to let your boss know if you are a single parent/dad?

Daughter's mom is not in town any more and is not going to see her very often. Is it a good idea to tell my boss about the situation in case I have to leave in the middle of the day sometimes if child is sick or cannot work late without notice, etc?Does telling this usually show as weakness at work?I am in a white collar job, if that matters. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2JLOYZZ
