Do you think the use of technology discourages children's interest in reading?

Hey everyone,What's your opinion on technology and its influence on children's reading habits?I've noticed recently that children are using more and more technology nowadays, what with iPads and all the different apps you can get on them.Is the influx of technology helpful?
