Daughter came home from preschool with a deep, red & blue, half inch bruise above her eye. Teachers said nothing at pickup...

When we got home from school, I noticed a huge bruise above my 3-year old's eye. Her bangs were covering it so I didn't notice it during pickup. I asked her what happened and she basically dodged the question or gave us inconsistent answers. Did you fall? "Yes!". Did someone push you? "Yes!". Did it happen inside or outside? "Inside and outside!". Did any teacher help? "Yes!". Which one? "all of them!". I was shocked that neither of the teachers in her preschool room said anything about this bruise which must've been very painful and surely caused her to cry! We called the school immediately and spoke to the head teacher in the room. She said she didn't recall anything happening but will check with the others. We couldn't believe this massive coverup and considered calling the center director! We were almost fuming when our phone rang and it was one of the teachers calling back. She said [daughter's name] was playing with markers today and got some on her face. Are you guys sure it's not just marker on her eyes? Now I'm no dummy, I can tell blood from red marker (or so I thought!). I got a wet napkin and wiped my daughter's forehead (while she kept insisting that it was an owie!). The terrible "bruise" just wiped off! I feel so stupid and relieved.Moral: if your kid comes home with a bruise and no one mentioned anything, first check if it's marker/paint! via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2ISDKYK
