My brother met this girl when he was in college that came from a small town. He ended up marrying her and they moved back to her small town. They run a pretty successful business from there and they started a family. My nieces and my nephew are (8F, 10M, and 13F). I went there for a week to visit my brother and it's just a different world.I was stunned to see that my nieces and nephews barely sat in front of the TV. They were all out with friends. My oldest niece was playing a game called Mafia with her friends. My nephew and his friends were playing outside every day. Walking around town. Just having fun outside. It got me thinking about my kids (10M and 7M) and just how attached they are to technology. They play video games, on their phones all the time. And I suggested to my wife that we should encourage to play outside more and get out of the house. Let us take them to the park without complaints. And she said to me that I'm being unreasonable. That their world is different to hours and they come from a small town. What do you think? Any advice? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2CHZbGa
