My 5 year old is really really sweet. Like, as sweet as your average 5 year old BUT with a 10% sweetness added. However, what she is not is money conscious. I'm actually guessing most 5 years old aren't but my kid is really out of this world. It's hard for her to understand why toys could be too expensive or how vacations could cost too much.Anyhow, food wise, we don't restrict our kids. Whatever is good for them, we buy. So ranging from cherries to yogurt, whatever brand they like, as long as it's healthy. Same for restaurants or whenever we go. My kid will usually pick the most expensive things instead of what she actually likes because she'll think it's better. We've been working hard on making her understand this but alas, no changes yet.So this past weekend we are at the restaurant and I go to the bathroom while she stays to look at the menu and order with her grandpa. I come back to 'You know, your kid is super polite and well behaved, she asked what was the cheapest item on the menu because she was money conscious.'OH I SEE. It's only when it's MY money. She also had that super guilty smile, like, I know what I'm doing ma. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2A6BqJd
