My six year old son is behaving very violently. Today he choked another child at day camp (!!!) and is basically on his last chance there. He knows what he is doing is wrong, but doesn't seem to care much. My wife and I are at a loss for what to do.

I don't know what else to say about this honestly. He's six and he's an only child, but he does have cousins close by that are close to his age. He hasn't been like this with them at all. We had some problems in kindergarten this last year with him acting out and misbehaving. We're pretty sure he has ADHD, and he was on Ritalin as basically a trial run and it seemed to be an improvement but he hasn't been on it for about a month now. We're working on getting him back on the medication, but we need something we can do now. I don't want to rely solely on the medicine for him to cope.I honestly don't know where he learned this kind of behavior from. We don't hit him or spank him, our consequences basically consist of timeouts. We've tried talking to him about this, but his reaction has basically been that he thinks it's funny. That's the most upsetting thing to me.I honestly don't know what else to put here, so please ask whatever you need to. I'll try to get back to you when I can. I want this to stop. I'm in over my head and don't know what to do. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2KFXmLX
