Hi thereLooking for some additional advice on how to deal with this situation.My 7yo and 5yo son have deliberately scratched a couples car, so 2 different cars from one household. It's happened yesterday, but I was in my garden kids in pool and police arrive to goto neighbours house. Kids inform me why as they heard from couples kid at school. 7yo rats out the 5yo immediately so my partner inspects their cars, and indeed there are scratches. Lo and behold he tells me he knew about this yesterday.We've marched straight over with the 5yo to apologise and offer to pay the costs. Neighbour informs me it appears 7yo has also been party to this damage. Ran back to get that child too. Both children are made to apologise, a chat with police officer they have offered no reason why they've done this, it's been logged but nothing going further.It just looks like they've drawn on it for no reason.I'm absolutely mortified and apologetic, we'll be footing the bill as we should.Those two no longer allowed to play out until we decide, bed early, no DVDs.What else do I need to be doing?I am not around as much as dad (not bio dad but my partner of nearly 3 years but they call him dad regardless).
